Mona Lisa Touch Laser – non-invasive aesthetic gynecology

Treatment overview

Mona Lisa Touch™ is an innovative laser developed for intimate beauty and  health of women. The treatment is designed for regeneration and rejuvenation of female intimate areas. The therapy considerably increases the comfort of patients and is, above all, distinguished by safety, non-invasive character and lack of recovery period. The Mona Lisa Touch laser treatment is an ideal solution for women who seek a less invasive procedure as compared with surgical or pharmaceutical treatments. The woman’s satisfaction with intimate aesthetics impacts the balance and self-confidence in all areas of life.

The treatment is aimed at restoring natural pH of the vagina, increase elasticity of vaginal walls and ensure better tensioning and hydration. The laser beam impacts vaginal walls, causing photothermal non-ablative tensioning and constriction of vaginal walls. The effects include stimulation of collagen production in the mucous membrane (greater elasticity, tensioning and constriction of vaginal walls). Moreover, the observed effects include stimulation of the production of glycogen responsible for vagina hydration. Patients who used to suffer from itching, dryness and vaginal infections observe significant improvement. This increases the comfort of their daily and sexual life.

Among other reasons, the problem of stress urinary incontinence results from weakening of the uterus fundus muscles and stretching of the vagina, which changes the angle of the female urethra. Thanks to laser therapy, strengthening the front wall of the vagina, the symptoms disappear.

Is this a painful treatment?

The treatment is painless. Patients only experience slight warmness. In case of outer sexual organs, anaesthetic cream is applied 15 minutes before the treatment, although this is not necessary.

When does the effect appear and how long does it last?

The number of treatments depends on the patient’s individual needs. For most patients, one treatment is sufficient. In case of stress urinary incontinence, the treatment may be repeated.

If the therapy is performed in young women after labour, the effect is certain to last until the next labour. Strengthening and improved elasticity of the vagina allow minimisation of damage suffered during the next labour.

In women at menopausal age, treatment is recommended as soon as possible – this allows minimising effects related to a lowered level of estrogens. As it is better to prevent than to cure, women should not wait until unfavourable symptoms get intensified and make their daily life more difficult. The sooner the treatment is performed, the better effects it renders.

Therapy schedule

The patient should furnish the result of the cytology test performed within the last year.

The treatment does not require any preparation. It takes app. 5-10 minutes. One treatment is usually sufficient. Treatments may be repeated at the intervals of 2-4 weeks. The patient makes a decision on the number of treatments so that the effect is satisfactory to her.

In case of vaginal wall regeneration, one treatment is performed. If the patient suffers from stress urinary incontinence, the procedure should usually be repeated.
